Gary enjoys delivering all the classic Sinatra etc in a relaxed manner with
loads of style and panache! Gary is very used to working in Big Bands, and so
it is a real treat for us to hear him in a more intimate setting at the Hare.

30th March 2008..................................................Sue Rivers-vocals
Sue has just released her debut album, Talk to me Baby, which speaks for itself!
The CD includes the first ever recording an unusual song, I’m Walking
around on Moonbeams written by Laurie Holloway, with whom Sue has had the great
pleasure in performing. Sue also writes, with fellow musician and producer David
Barnes; three of their compositions can be heard on the CD.
“Is it possible for a non-American to sound an authentic and credible jazz singer, without assuming a trans-Atlantic accent wholesale? It’s a considerable relief for me to be able to answer that, with this wholly acceptable, highly distinctive jazzvoice which belongs to British singer, Sue Rivers.”...
“No wet-behind-the-ears ingénue, that was an experienced performer who has paid her dues. I could easily sit through an evening of that!”... Humphrey Lyttleton, on ‘Best of Jazz’ (BBC Radio 2, 23 May 2005):
“Sue Rivers has a sound all of her own.”... Campbell Burnap, (Jazz FM)
Sue Rivers is "very impressive." ... Laurie Holloway
"Sue Rivers has a magical quality." ...Lawrence Holofcener
Sue has been likened to Peggy Lee, Marian Montgomery, Anita O'Day, Cleo Lane... We think she has a style of her own. See what you think by listening to the extracts from her CD; better still, come and see her singing live!
Joining
Sue tonight are Jo Fooks-sax,
Phil Mead-piano, Pete Ringrose-bass and Noel Joyce-drums.
